3D Movies Made Better

Movies, televisions and even theme park rides in 3D really help to bring the action to life. If you wear glasses and “Kung Fu Panda 3,” “Zootopia,” “The Jungle Book,” or “Finding Dory” are on your “must see” list, you will have to wear special 3D glasses to get the full effect of the experience. And watching without the special glasses is not an option -- the images are blurry and can be very uncomfortable on your eyes.

So your options include:

  • Wear 3D glasses over your regular eyeglasses (uncomfortable!)
  • Wear contact lenses instead of your regular eyeglasses (if you can tolerate contacts)
  • Purchase special 3D clip on lenses to wear over your regular glasses (but don’t leave them at home!)
  • Watch the alternate 2D version of movies instead of the 3D version (and miss out on some special effects)
  • Have LASIK vision correction to correct your myopia and eliminate your need for glasses (which makes everything, including 3D, better!)

If the last option sounds most appealing, you are not alone. In fact, Dr. Kenneth Lindahl, surgeon and founder of Rochester Eye and Laser Center, has performed thousands of LASIK procedures on myopic patients. While they all may not be 3D movie fans, they all were motivated to discover the pleasures of life without glasses or contacts. Most of them thought carefully about their decision to have LASIK and thoroughly researched LASIK providers in Rochester.

That led many of them to the free LASIK Consultation available at Rochester Eye and Laser Center. Through this comprehensive eye exam with Dr. Lindahl himself, they learned if they were good candidates for LASIK and interviewed him to evaluate his experience, learn more about the latest LASIK technologies and meet the office staff.

If you are seeking a more enjoyable 3D movie experience, find out if LASIK vision correction is right for you. With your new vision, you can grab your popcorn, sit back, put on those special 3D glasses, and enjoy the show with no compromises!
