Watch Dr. Lindahl perform a LASIK procedure in real time, re-shaping the patient’s corneas to correct vision problems like astigmatism, nearsightedness, or farsightedness. See Dr. Lindahl use blade-free IFS laser, to create the corneal flap, a thin segment of the outer layer of the cornea. With a computer controlled IFS laser, Dr. Lindahl can create a thinner, more precise and stable flap.
The flap is lifted, and Dr. Lindahl uses the Eximer EX500 laser to reshape the underlying corneal tissue to correct irregularities and reshape the cornea. This step in Custom LASIK is based on our Contoura™ Vision map of the patient’s eye, that maps 22,000 unique points on each eye. The Contoura Vision is programmed into the laser so that the exact amount of corneal tissue is removed to yield the best vision possible. Finally, the flap is folded back into place where it bonds quickly, usually within 4 hours. The procedure takes about 10-minutes per eye and is virtually painless with nearly immediate results – clearly better vision.
