Wearing Glasses Can Suck, Here's Why

Do you wear glasses?  Welcome to the club. We’ll see eye to eye on these annoying situations.

How does so much stuff get on your glasses ALL THE TIME?!? Somehow they manage to get dirty for no apparent reason at all! I’m doubtful that you spend your day constantly pawing at your face. What about smudges? I’m positive you did not mistake your glasses for a napkin while eating ribs at Dinosaur.

…and why are smudges so incredibly stubborn to remove?

The search for a decent lens cloth is like trying to find Bigfoot. Yeah, you’ve got that one cloth that came with your glasses, but it just seems to make the situation worse. You don’t know what kind of fabric it is, but it doesn’t work.

There’s also that moment when you start to believe that your vision is getting worse, then you notice that your glasses are the culprit, they’re just so unbelievably dirty, that they had you fooled.

What about when you lose your glasses?

How can you be expected to FIND your glasses without your glasses on? Suppose anyone has made an app for that? Besides, who keeps a special pair readily available, just in case? There’s also those times you THINK your glasses are lost, but they’ve been on top of your head or hanging from your shirt collar the whole time.

Along with worrying about losing your glasses, what if you break them or actually lose them for real? Get ready to go spend some cash on new ones. Since many insurance policies only pay for glasses every two years, that money is coming out of your pocket.

This isn’t even taking into consideration any experience you’ve had with the joys of contact lenses.  Not going there.

It’s a lot, when you think about all of it together.

If you are interested in improving your vision and reducing or alleviating your reliance on glasses and contact lenses altogether, consider LASIK laser vision correction. Dr Kenneth Lindahl and his team at The Rochester Eye & Laser Center are here to help you understand your options.  You can also take our free online LASIK Assessment to see if you might be an excellent LASIK candidate.
